Where life has successfully pivoted to a ‘new normal’ of remote working, technology has played a crucial role in allowing employees to remain in their jobs and maintain some sense of normality. Yet, technology’s impact on our health can affect us both physically and mentally. It is fair to say technology doesn’t get the best rep when it comes to safeguarding our mental health and well being .
Work from home culture has resulted in longer working hours, continuous usage of phones and back aches. Our phones are the very first thing that we check when we wake up, and the last thing we see when we go to bed. When accumulated, all these parameters can take a toll on anyone’s mental health, be it with depression or anxiety.
When it comes to mental health, it’s not the people with mental illness who need to be treated, but also the people who are supporting them as they need to be equally engaged.
India Future Foundation (IFF) believes that in these increasingly virtual times, technology can be used to create mental health awareness and to support people with mental illness. IFF conceptualized a helpline that focuses at spreading positivist and providing aid to people suffering from mental illness through which many lives got impacted.
