Safeguarding Mental Health while using Technology

In today’s day and age technology has become an integral part of our lives. There are ample examples, to prove this fact. Technology made it possible to adopt and adapt to the concept of work from home as the new normal during the Covid-19 pandemic.

What needs to be noted is that work from home has resulted in longer working hours, continuous usage of phones and even back aches, in most cases. For most of us our phones are the very first thing that we check when we wake up, in the morning, and the last thing we see when we go to bed, at night. When accumulated, all these parameters can take a toll on anyone’s mental health, be it with depression or anxiety.

When it comes to mental health, it is not the people with mental illness who need to be treated, but also the people who are supporting them as they need to be equally engaged.

India Future Foundation (IFF) believes that in these increasingly virtual times, technology can be used to create awareness about mental health to support people with mental illness. IFF conceptualized a helpline that focuses on spreading positivity and providing aid to people suffering from mental illness.
