Capacity Building for Law Enforcement

As the world is getting digitized, even the criminals make use of the same technology to achieve their nefarious goals. To stay ahead, especially of such bad elements, and more importantly to investigate such case and take such cases to their logical end, the police and courts need to stay updated with the latest technologies. It has been seen that the traditional methods used by law enforcement agencies to investigate modern day crimes such as crime on the dark web, financial crimes involving cryptocurrency often fall short in aiding the agencies in conducting a thorough investigation.

India Future Foundation (IFF) works to fill this significant skill gap by offering special training programmes that create the necessary awareness about the latest technologies so that personnel involved in law enforcement are one step ahead of the nefarious elements. The foundation demonstrates its commitment through practical training sessions for a diverse range of personnel involved on law enforcement like Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers, officers from state police forces and personnel from the judicial fraternity.

By working with key organisations like the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and companies like Paytm, IFF has offered detailed training across India (New Delhi, Lucknow, Pune, and Jaipur). These workshops, for law enforcement officials, provide essential, hands-on knowledge on modern investigation methods, such as Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), how to analyse Call Data Records (CDR) and Internet Protocol Detail Records (IPDR), social media investigation and understanding how the dark web works. By focusing on new areas like tracking cryptocurrency, IFF provides law enforcement and judicial officers with the knowledge that will empower them to address crimes, especially those riding on the back of technology in an effective manner.
